So.. Its been a while!!! New job has got in the way!!.. Ive just finished a small job for Ancient mysteries ...a shroud for Petra buriel scene..I really enjoyed doing it.

The double knot stitch off

So Marge has been quiet due to gadding about on holidays...but she's done some samples. Which gave me the kick up the backside to do mine!!!...inspired by the white on white embellishment dress from the Bath Costume Museum...the double knot stitch is holding strips of irish lace together. The thread is a chunky twisted silk.

Applique Heron

Its always worth revisiting old work..I never really liked this old fella when I first did him, he's grown on me with age...I want to do a Heron in flight at some point.

Beads to feel a little bling

I've just started to bead into the tapestry...... I love the contrast between the dry aged wool tapestry and the lush gloss beautiful cats teeth beads....So many more to add!!!

Bath Museum of Costume inspiration

I stumbled over some pictures I took at the Costume museum in Bath last year,..every time I book a archive visit so I can handle stitch and embellishment from the 17th century to current day I feel so lucky and am so inspired! The white on white knot stitch on paper had a similar feel to this beauty!
